CD196 antigens

CD196 antigens general information

CD196 Gene ID 1235
CD196 Official Full Name C-C motif chemokine receptor 6
CD196 Alias CCR6, BN-1, CKR-L3, CKRL3, CMKBR6, DCR2, DRY6, GPR29, GPRCY4, STRL22
CD196 Cellular Expression
CD196 Ligand/Receptor/Association CCL20, β-defensin
CD196 Function Receptor for a C-C type chemokine. Binds to MIP-3-alpha/LARC and affects dendritic cell chemotaxis.
CD196 Summary This gene encodes an integrin beta chain, which combines with multiple different alpha chains to form different integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. The encoded protein plays an important role in immune response and defects in this gene cause leukocyte adhesion deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
