Von Willebrand Factor/vWF Proteins, Antibodies, ELISA Kits Research Reagents

VWF (Von Willebrand Factor) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 12p13.31. VWF is also known as VWD and F8VWF. The human VWF gene encodes a 309265 Da protein containing 2813 amino acids. The VWF protein is broadly expressed in fat, lung and other tissues. Among its related pathways are RET signaling and Paradoxical activation of RAF signaling by kinase inactive BRAF. VWF is related to protein homodimerization activity and integrin binding. MUC5AC is an important paralog of VWF gene. VWF is associated with some diseases, including Von Willebrand Disease, Type 1 and Von Willebrand Disease, Type 2.

        Von Willebrand Factor/vWF の背景知識

Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) is a multimeric glycoprotein involved in hemostasis in blood, binds receptors on the surface of platelets and in connective tissue, thereby mediating the adhesion of platelets to sites of vascular injury. From studies it appears that VWF protein uncoils under these circumstances, decelerating passing platelets. VWF protein is deficient or defective in von Willebrand disease (VWD) and is involved in a large number of other diseases, including thrombosis, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, Stroke, Heyde's syndrome, possibly hemolytic-uremic syndrome and so on.
