Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 N (UBE2N), also known as Ubc13, is an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme that promotes the formation of monomeric p53 that results in its cytoplasmic translocation and subsequent loss of function. In detail, increased UBE2N plays a critical role in the synaptosomal accumulation of mutant huntingtin with age. Moreover, Ube2N gene play an essential role for RIG-I-mediated MAVS (mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein) activation in mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF).
