TLR9 (Toll Like Receptor 9) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 3p21.2. TLR9 is also known as CD289. The human TLR9 gene encodes a 115860 Da protein containing 1032 amino acids. The TLR9 protein is broadly expressed in lymph node, spleen and other tissues. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and NF-KappaB Family Pathway. TLR9 is related to transmembrane signaling receptor activity and siRNA binding. ENSG00000173366 is an important paralog of TLR9 gene. TLR9 is associated with some diseases, including Meningococcal Meningitis and Cervicitis.

    TLR9 の背景知識

    Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are important sensors that recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns. Generally, TLR9 is known to recognize bacterial or viral DNA but not viral RNA and initiate an immune response. The significance of TLR9 in DENV-induced immune response is also confirmed in examination with the bone marrow-derived DCs prepared from Tlr9-knockout mice. As renal tubular epithelial TLR9 promotes cell injury and death whereas TLR9 signaling in other cell types may promote cytoprotective effects. TLR9 agonist delivered by inhalation is able to prime T cell responses against poorly immunogenic lung tumors and to complement the effects of PD-1 blockade.
