RNF43 (Ring Finger Protein 43) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 17q22. RNF43 is also known as URCC, SSPCS and RNF124. The human RNF43 gene encodes an 85722 Da protein containing 783 amino acids. The RNF43 protein is broadly expressed in duodenum, colon and other tissues. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and S45 mutants of beta-catenin arent phosphorylated. RNF43 is related to ligase activity and obsolete signal transducer activity. ENSG00000285897 is an important paralog of RNF43 gene. RNF43 is associated with some diseases, including Sessile Serrated Polyposis Cancer Syndrome and Hyperplastic Polyposis Syndrome.

        RNF43 mutations are frequently detected in colorectal cancer cells and lead to a loss of function of the ubiquitin E3 ligase. The outer mitochondrial membrane 34 (TOMM34) and ring finger protein 43 (RNF43) as highly expressed oncogenes in malignant colorectal tumors. RNF43 is a tumour suppressor gene that suppresses the Wnt-beta-catenin signalling pathway.
