NR1H2 (Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 1 Group H Member 2, also known as NER; UNR; LXRB; LXR-b; NER-I; RIP15), located on 19q13.33, is a Protein Coding gene. The liver X receptors, LXRA (NR1H3) and NR1H2, form a subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily and are key regulators of macrophage function, controlling transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation. The NR1H2 gene produces a 50974 Da protein composed of 460 amino acids. Genetic variability of LXRβ could be associated with human obesity. Diseases such as Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome and Biliary Tract Disease are associated with NR1H2.

    NR1H2/LXR beta の背景知識

    NR1H2 (Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 1 Group H Member 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Liver X receptor Beta (LXRβ), located in an obesity susceptible region, is involved in the metabolism of lipid and carbohydrates. Previous human genetic studies have suggested genetic variability of LXRβ could be associated with human obesity. Diseases associated with NR1H2 include Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome and Biliary Tract Disease. Among its related pathways are Lipoprotein metabolism and Sterol Regulatory Element-Binding Proteins (SREBP) signaling. LXRβ is a promising therapeutic target for lipid disorders, atherosclerosis, chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Discovery and optimization of selective liver X receptor β (LXRβ) agonists are challenging due to the high homology of LXRα and LXRβ in the ligand-binding domain
