MRPL3 (Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L3, also known as MRL3, RPML3, and COXPD9) is a Protein Coding gene. The MRPL3 gene, located on 3q22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, and rat, etc. MRPL3 belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL3 family. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein that belongs to the L3P ribosomal protein family. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found on chromosome 13q. MRPL3 is widely expressed in the thyroid, colon, and other tissues. Diseases associated with MRPL3 include Combined Oxidative Phosphorylation Deficiency 9 and Penicilliosis. Among its related pathways are Organelle biogenesis and maintenance and Viral mRNA Translation.
