LSM7 (LSM7 Homolog, U6 Small Nuclear RNA And MRNA Degradation Associated) is a Protein Coding gene. The LSM7 gene, located on 19p13.3, is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, and zebrafish, etc. LSM7 belongs to the snRNP Sm proteins family. LSM7 plays role in pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP complex that is involved in spliceosome assembly, and as a component of the pre catalytic spliceosome (spliceosome B complex). LSM7 is widely expressed in the colon, bone marrow, and other tissues. Diseases associated with LSM7 include Spermatogenic Failure 5. Among its related pathways are Gene Expression and mRNA Splicing - Major Pathway.
