LRWD1 (Leucine-Rich Repeats And WD Repeat Domain Containing 1, also known as ORCA; CENP-33), located on 7q22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. The gene produces a 70861 Da protein composed of 647 amino acids. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with components of the origin recognition complex (ORC) and regulates the formation of the pre-replicative complex. Diseases such as Embryonal Testis Carcinoma and Spermatogenic Failure, X-Linked, 1 are associated with LRWD1.

    LRWD1 の背景知識

    LRWD1 (Leucine-Rich Repeats And WD Repeat Domain Containing 1) is a Protein Coding gene. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with components of the origin recognition complex (ORC) and regulates the formation of the pre-replicative complex. The encoded protein stabilizes the ORC and therefore aids in DNA replication. LRWD1 is implicated in the regulation of signal transduction, transcription, RNA processing, and tumor development. It is a protein that contains LRR and WDs domains and is important in regulating spermatogenesis. LRWD1 is a testis-specific protein that is mainly expressed in the sperm neck where the centrosome is located. By using microarray analysis, LRWD1 is identified as a putative gene that is involved in spermatogenesis.
