LDOC1 (LDOC1 Regulator Of NFKB Signaling, also known as Mar7; RTL7; BCUR1; Mart7; SIRH7), located on Xq27.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, and rat. The gene produces a 16968 Da protein composed of 146 amino acids. The LDOC1 protein contains a leucine zipper-like motif in its N-terminal region and a proline-rich region that shares marked similarity to an SH3-binding domain. LDOC1 gene is a known regulator of the nuclear factor-mediated pathway to apoptosis through inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB). Diseases such as Febrile Seizures, Familial, 7 are associated with LDOC1.

    LDOC1 の背景知識

    LDOC1 (LDOC1 Regulator Of NFKB Signaling) is a Protein Coding gene. The protein encoded by this gene contains a leucine zipper-like motif and a proline-rich region that shares marked similarity with an SH3-binding domain. LDOC1 was first identified as a gene encoding a leucine zipper protein whose expression was decreased in a series of pancreatic and gastric cancer cell lines. LDOC1 gene is a known regulator of the nuclear factor-mediated pathway to apoptosis through inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB). Upregulation of LDOC1 in HIBEC increases the expression of NF-kappaB, which may promote the activation of IL-2 and TNF-alpha secretion and inhibit cell apoptosis. The silencing of LDOC1 is a frequent event in cervical cancer and may be of interest as a molecular marker in cervical cancer.
