IL-6R Proteins, Antibodies, cDNA Clones, ELISA Kits Research Reagents

IL6R (Interleukin 6 Receptor, also known as IL6Q; gp80; CD126; HIES5; IL6RA; IL6RQ; IL-6RA; IL6QTL; IL-6R-1), located on 1q21.3, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and frog. The gene produces a 51548 Da protein composed of 468 amino acids. This gene encodes a subunit of the interleukin 6 (IL6) receptor complex. Diseases such as Soluble Interleukin-6 Receptor, Serum Level Of, Quantitative Trait Locus and Interleukin 6, Serum Level Of, Quantitative Trait Locus are associated with IL6R. The related pathways of IL6R include Signaling by GPCR and RAF-independent MAPK1/3 activation.

        IL-6R の背景知識

Interleukin 6 receptor (IL-6R) also known as CD126 (Cluster of Differentiation 126) is a type I cytokine receptor. The low concentration of a soluble form of IL-6 receptor (SIL-6R) acts as an agonist of IL-6 activity. In the IL-6R/CD126/IL6R system, both a membrane-bound IL-6R and a SIL-6R protein can mediate IL-6 signals into the cells through the interaction of gp130. The resulting IL-6/sIL-6R protein complex is also capable of binding to gp130 and inducing intracellular signaling. Through this so-called 'trans-signaling' mechanism, IL-6 can stimulate cells that lack an endogenous mIL-6R. High levels of IL-6 and SIL-6R have been reported in several chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases as well as in cancer.
