ITGB2 (Integrin Subunit Beta 2, also known as LAD; CD18; MF17; MFI7; LCAMB; LFA-1; MAC-1), located on 21q22.3, is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. The gene produces an 84782 Da protein composed of 769 amino acids. This gene encodes an integrin beta chain, which combines with multiple different alpha chains to form different integrin heterodimers. Diseases such as Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency, Type I, and Pertussis are associated with ITGB2. The related pathways of ITGB2 include the Integrin Pathway and Degradation of the extracellular matrix.

    CD18 の背景知識

    ITGB2 (Integrin Subunit Beta 2) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes an integrin beta chain, which combines with multiple different alpha chains to form different integrin heterodimers. The encoded protein, which belongs to the integrin beta chain family, plays an important role in the immune response. Integrins form a family of heterodimeric transmembrane receptors that regulate cell–adhesion and cell-extracellular matrix interactions. Integrin ITGAL/ITGB2 is a receptor for ICAM1, ICAM2, ICAM3, and ICAM4. Integrin ITGAL/ITGB2 is also a receptor for the secreted form of ubiquitin-like protein ISG15; the interaction is mediated by ITGAL. ITGB2 is broadly expressed in bone marrow, appendix, and other tissues. Diseases associated with ITGB2 include Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency, Type I, and Pertussis.
