APRIL/TNFSF13 Proteins, cDNA Clones Research Reagents

TNFSF13 (TNF Superfamily Member 13) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 17p13.1. TNFSF13 is also known as APRIL, CD256, TALL2, ZTNF2, TALL-2, TNLG7B, TRDL-1 and UNQ383/PRO715. The human TNFSF13 gene encodes a 27433 Da protein containing 250 amino acids. The TNFSF13 protein is ubiquitously expressed in lung, gall bladder and other tissues. Among its related pathways are PEDF Induced Signaling and TRAF Pathway. TNFSF13 is related to signaling receptor binding and tumor necrosis factor receptor binding. TNFSF12-TNFSF13 is an important paralog of TNFSF13 gene. TNFSF13 is associated with some diseases, including Brain Glioblastoma Multiforme and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

      APRIL/TNFSF13 の背景知識

      TNFSF13 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. It is a ligand for TNFRSF17/BCMA. TNFSF13 is lowly expressed in normal tissues, but is elevated in several types of tumors and transformed cell lines. It is important for B cell development. TNFSF13 may also play a role in T-independent type II antigen responses and T cell survival, and induce proliferation/survival of non lymphoid cells. It exists as a functional homotrimer. It can bind to two cell surface receptors, BCMA and TACI, which it shares with BAFF to exert downstream T- and B-cell regulatory effects. TNFSF13 also has been demonstrated to bind to proteoglycans on the cell surface.
